Sunday cooking

Lunch:  Salmon belly steak & Sisig

Dinner:  Salmon belly steak & Vegetables in oyster sauce (with pork bits)

*******

My Dear loves salmon belly; I find it a bit too fatty (I prefer milkfish belly).  The salmon steak turned out great and I think it’s because I used a generous amount of calamansi juice to counter the fattiness of the fish.  The onions turned out great, too.  As for the veggies, I put in the lettuce a bit too soon — it still turned out well, but next time I will put it in much later to retain its crispness.

Cooking is starting to become therapy for me; I feel relaxed and I like planning our menu for the day.  I’m especially eager to cook (and prepare the ingredients for the dishes) now that we have our new knife :)   Next weekend, I’m thinking of making home-made spring rolls — hope it turns out well.
